The LONTEM Project


LONTEM stands for "Learn One New Thing Every Month."  This project was pre-meditated, but it is one of my New Year's resolutions!  I started thinking  about it during the fall of 2010, but now it's actually in action!  Below is the list of things I'm going to attempt to learn every month throughout the year of 2011.  Once I do those things, I will add a link to the post I made about that one thing.

This month, I will learn...

June: Practice Using French in Context
July: How to Communicate in Sign Language
August: How to Make Soap
September: How to Assemble a Summer Montage
October: How to cook something you can't find in a bakery
November: How to successfully write a novel in one month
December: How to Be An Adult (Since it's my 18th Birthday this month!)

During each month, I will be busy putting together a video so that I can show you my process: getting instructions on how to do each subject, practicing this subject (there's going to be a lot of this), and then successfully being able to do this subject.  When I say I'll add a link to the post, you'll be taken to a separate post with the video included.

Some guidelines (for my purposes, not necessarily yours, unless you're doing this alongside me, in which case,  click HERE and leave a comment with your web address so that I may keep up with your progress!)
  • May include other people in your video, but in the end, subject to be learned has to be learned by you.
  • Must include sources you used at the end of the video and also mention the people that helped you with the video, if any.
  • Subjects to be learned may not be changed once the new month starts.
  • Video has no time limit, but under 10 minutes would be nice...
  • Video must be uploaded within the first week of the new month (the sooner, the better, because then you can move on and work on that new thing to be learned!)
  • Must keep on top of normal blogging duties.
