Chi-Chi-Chicago!

Today, whilst in band learning wonderful things, we got to find out about where we were going for a music tour. Chicago! Hurray!

We're going to go sometime in March/May (we're not entirely sure just yet). We'll be taking a couple tour buses there and I know that we're going to be playing in a competition (well, we're going to look for one any way).

I'm excited for this for a few reasons:

1. I have never gone on a long-distance trip with my high school before. This year will be Chicago, and then in 2012, I'll hopefully be on my way to France over spring break.

2. I've only been to Chicago once, but I missed a lot of things. I never went to Millennium Park to see the gigantic silver bean. I was also pretty young when I went, so I can say I've been there, but not necessarily that I have retained everything that I had learned there (though, I remembered the group of Amish people that I saw over there and now my family mocks me about it because I had never seen Amish people before. I thought they were mythical... that sounds just terrible...)

3. I didn't take pictures while I was there. Heck, I was too young to care about that! Hopefully by the time that we leave, I'll have saved up enough for a) the trip itself and b) a new Nikon camera that can take splendid photos.

Now I have some questions for you! If you have been to Chicago before, what fun and exciting things did you do there? Is there something that you would absolutely discourage future visitors from doing?

There's a suggestion box at school and we're allowed to throw out ideas for the rest of the trip.

Really, nothing is off-limits when it comes to suggestions. We've been told that we can go to shows as a group and things like that.

Thanks for reading and/or helping me out!
